Aim:

To support the participation of Pacific Islands peoples in their arts. This funding programme encourages the practice and maintenance of Pacific Islands heritage arts in New Zealand. It recognises the important role the arts play in maintaining the unique heritage of the Pacific Islands peoples of New Zealand. Priorities: The Pacific Arts Committee will favour projects that: present Pacific Islands heritage to the wider community revive Pacific Islands heritage arts, involve or focus on youth as participants, involve Pacific Islands women, involve cross-cultural exchanges, involve importing raw materials to maintain authenticity, record and document heritage arts and develop markets for heritage arts.
